Rams for Sale

All the Romney rams below were sold at the Feilding High Performance Romney Ram Fair on Tuesday 15 November 2011. We sold all four 14 for an average of $1400, top price $3000. Our on farm sale held on 23 November 2011, we sold around 100 rams for approximate average of $850, top price of $2200. Those rams still available can be viewed at http://onfarm.agonline.co.nz/ where you can view videos of the rams, their performance data, and buy them outright if you so wish without arranging to view them on farm. Alternatively just contact me to arrange a time to view them.

The four Southdowns are those that I am taking to the Christchurch Ram Fair in January 2012. If you would like to see them before, just contact me to arrange time.

First up at christchurch. 802 was third in Ram hogget class at Waimate. Sire: Waidale 735-09 who was supreme of Waimate show last year. 735 has a footrot profile of 1.1. 802 data: Br/Rr 3/2 wwtbv 3.54 rank 1, lw8bv 6.4 rank 1, emabv 1.57 rank 9, TSG 563 rank 1, TSO 770 rank 1/139 (this was from SIL Ace across flock data.)

first up second run at christchurch I think. 757 won the ram hogget class at waimate show just gone. 821 replaces 771 which I entered in christchurch, he is 2nd up 2nd run. I have no photo of him just a video. His sire is Waidale 726-09, footrot profile of 1.5. 821 data: Br/Rr 2/2 wwtbv 1.51 rank 82, lw8bv 3.19 rank 74, emabv 1.64 rank 8, TSG 265 rank 78, TSO 472 rank 38/139. (all the southdown sil figures taken from SIL Ace across flock analysis in October.)

A good medium size romney, great early growth, good medium wool, great hindquarter, good colour, very good sheep, his sil figures were okay, but probably what stopped him from selling for good money at feilding, I had him first up, but he was sold at Feilding as a stud ram. Footrot score of 1.3.

Used as a lamb, fast growing earlier, but not a big mature weight. Very good sheep, great wool, good bone, good medium sire, good colour. Good SIL figures. Footrot score of 1.2. I was close to keeping him, but as I have lambs on the ground by him, I hopefully will have a good son by him to use. I sold him at Feilding for $2000.

52, very good ram, fantastic medium wool, he is perhaps a bit bigger than I am trying to breed these days, but not excessively big, very good on his legs, good colour, biggest drawback is that as got older his foot colour got lighter. He was sold at feilding ram fair for $3000
